The Hump! Podcast Episode 28 Show Notes – Breaking Free of the Coronavirus Pandemic

If You Missed The First Season

Miss the first season or so of The Hump! Show?

In Ep. 28 of The Hump! Podcast, Brent & Chad Chat Bad TV and Movie Streaming, Football Comebacks, Mother’s Day & More

What Craft Beers Are The Fellas Drinking?

  • Brent is drinking some Torn Label’s “Look Up at Night”
  • While Chad imbibes the trusty Boulevard Pale Ale
  • They chat what matters more … great beer or a beautiful tasting room (Torn Label inspired)

Will the Kansas City Chiefs go 16-0 this NFL season?

Believe it or not …  ESPN is so hard up for sports that it ran a three-hour NFL schedule release broadcast. The Chiefs’ schedule features a couple marquee games — New Orleans and a Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay team? We’re in. Tremendous television about someone whom we’re cheering for? Did you watch the ESPN special about Alex Smith? After 17 surgeries to repair a broken leg and hold off severe infections, he’s back on the practice field. His story is inspiring and gut-wrenching.

Brent visits with Alex Smith during his Chiefs days.

What Shows Would You Not Recommend?

There’s been so much in the way of television and movies consumed, the fellas have hit some potholes along the way. Do 80s movies hold up? Why has it take Chad so long to see Breaking Bad. Brent says HARD PASS on Stephen King-adapted the Good Marriage. (We’ve hit the bottom of the Netflix barrel because Becca walks out on this one). So are we running out of shows to watch? Also, who has regrets watching Tiger King? The fellas chat the potential of a Tiger King. Can you get those hours back. And would you waste time doubling down? Even if the starring role goes to Nicholas Cage? Chad thought highly of Chernobyl. But is it strange and irrational behavior to watch something so glum during a pandemic?

What Irrational Behavior Have We Seen During the Coronavirus Pandemic

The fellas talk all of the washing, scrubbing and sanitizing to ward off the coronavirus? During the chat, they contemplate whether it’s ever okay to wash your eyeballs.  Or washing your hands so much that your fingernails are chipping off? (You probably should be.)

Where are you looking forward to going now that quarantine is being lifted?

Travel is likely out of the question — at least international travel. (Could it be banned until next year?) Still, a trip would be nice, even if it’s just going back to old watering holes

The Hump! Music Guest — Nicole Springer

Singer-songwriter Nicole Springer bring some serious emotion with the new track Echo from her band’s new album. Go show her love people — or others love (SHE DOES SINGING TELEGRAMS!) (And

And This Episode’s Game of “Triple D” …

To close out The Hump! Podcast … Brent and Chad play a quick round of Triple D.

What’s Triple D?

They throw out a scenario … and discuss whether it’s a DICK, DOUCHE or DUMBASS move …

This week’s Triple D move — What do you call someone who assumes you have nothing better to while quarantined so they expect immediate responses to everything?”

The teenage producer offers his perspective. Like … what if you someone leaves you on open? What exactly the hell is open? Apparently, leaving someone on “OPEN” is a thing on Snapchat. Also, Chad’s daughters school him on a different meanings of slang. Like, regular words even. As an example, did you know there are three different versions of okay? Apparently, they all mean different things. We discuss and debate on the show, but feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments (keep it clean folks, as they reserve the right to delete any personal attacks or defamatory information).

You Can Catch The Hump! Live

You can watch Brent and Chad LIVE 7 p.m. CST most Thursdays on Facebook  (and sometimes Instagram — when it works).

They’ll publish the replays on Facebook and places where good audio can be found (see below platforms — and not saying they’re good, but they’ll slum along greatness).
